WARA has a base in Ouagadogou, Burkina faso from where two regional WARA fundraisers work to support the work of network members. The regional fundraisers support members in proposal development, training and networking. Funds have been accessed from different institutional donors like the EU, USAID, UN- institutions, Dutch government, research institutions, private foundations, etc. Capacity development is an ongoing process by and among WARA members.
The governance of WARA is in the hands of the General Assembly, while implementation of networking activities is done by the WARA executive committee. The executive committee consists of the WARA chairperson, WARA vice-chairperson and the regional coordinator. Members come together during different times a year for joint regional meetings and workshops. Currently WARA is in the process of formal registration. It is planned that WARA will open its regional office in Burkina Faso towards the end of 2016.
